The largest kite ever built had an area of 6,000 square feet
(557 square meters). When it was sent aloft, seventy people held onto it. But
it was so powerful that it almost pulled those seventy people into the sky.
What is believed to have been the longest kite was called the Thai Snake. When
fully stretched out across the sky, it had a length of almost half a mile (0.8
